How Accurate Are Online Depression Symptom Checklists?

Question by brighteyesxo: How accurate are online depression symptom checklists?
I’m a teenager, if age has anything to do with it.
When I look at online checklists of depression symptoms I always get the result “high risk” or something along those lines.
I’ve had it confirmed from so many sources that I should “seek immediate help,” and that this is a “treatable illness,” but I just feel like I shouldn’t listen to a silly online survey.
The smart part of my brain tells me to talk to someone. But I don’t want to.
So help my brain stop fighting itself. Are these checklists reliable, or am I just a moody teenager?
