If Science Has Proven That Homosexuality Is Not a “disorder” Then Why Do People Continue to Treat It Like One?

Question by Royal Victory: If science has proven that homosexuality is not a “disorder” then why do people continue to treat it like one?
I know that the bible has passages that suggest the condemnation of homosexuality but considering that the word “homosexual” was first put into the bible in the mid 1900’s and science has since proven that attempting to alter a persons sexuality can be both damaging and dangerous to their well-being why would some people still try to damage a persons health?

I’m just glad I don’t eat shellfish!

The culture in which we live tends to broadly define what behavior is perceived as dysfunctional or deviant and individuals within that culture decide if they want to buy into the cultural norm or decide to perceive the world a little differently.

To me, the decision to declare homosexuality as a disorder is a cultural decision, not a scientific one.
