Answer by Kelly A
I don’t have personal experience with meth addiction, but from the research and information I do know, it is one of the hardest addictions to overcome next to alcohol and heroin. Obviously rehab is the best place to start. There have been many people though that have been successful in overcoming the addiction with out rehab. You have to be prepared for the fact it will be one of the most difficult things you ever do, but if you are dedicated you can do it. You should confide in a friend or family member if you already haven’t that can support you through overcoming the addiction. You will need to have a positive motivator to help you along the way. You will need to do a lot of thinking and legwork and determine the reasons you want to get off meth. Do you have goals or dreams? Do you want to go to school, college, have children? Do you want to travel? You will need to have other things to occupy you, something that interests you such as sports, exercise, reading, etc. that you can turn to during difficult times. There are clinics and non profit organizations you can contact that will assist you in meth addiction rehab at little or no cost. With out know where you live, I can’t point you in the direction. But you can look up “no cost drug rehabilitation” or “low income drug rehabilitation” to start with.
