Yes, by taking fish oil and eating more oily fish. A low carb diet (less grains, sugar, starch and vegetable oils), with more meat, fish, eggs and animal fat is also beneficial.

I know from both personal experience, and in discussing with others, that going completely off of all medications usually leads to trouble of a complicated nature. But of course certain medications have unwanted side effects, and it can take some time and the right psychiatrist to help sort matters out.

Are you satisfied with your psychiatrist? Does s/he seem interested in how you are actually doing? Because a good doctor will listen intently and, as with the example you mention being drowsy from meds, will make adjustments to find the right balance.

If by “naturally” you are wondering about plant remedies, keep in mind that most ‘synthetic’ drugs have natural origins. And while there are plants that are known to have calming effects, treat depression, etc they just never seem consistent in a complete treatment plan. I really don’t mean to criticize them, because I like the idea of that approach, but with my b.p.d.and that of acquaintances, we’ve simply never found constructive benefit.
