What Should I Do About My Food Phobia?

Question by sarah: What should I do about my food phobia?
This is not anorexia or anything of that sort.
It’s been like this since I was at least 3:
I’m terrified (seriously) to try new foods.
I can hardly be in the same room as any sort of bean. The texture and stuff…just creep me out. It’s like this with tons of other foods but the list is very long.
If someone puts a new food on my plate and tries to convince me to eat it, it honestly makes it hard to me to breathe.

I’m really sick of having to put up with this,
but mostly just sick of having to put up with people trying to force me to eat things and not understanding, thinking that I’m just a picky eater or have an eating disorder.
There’s a TINY amount of foods that I do eat, mainly being junk food and fruits and grains. It’s very frustrating to daily find anything to eat.

So anyways, what should I do?
I at least want to get some sort of diagnosis so I don’t have to go through the whole “No I’m not anorexic, I’m not trying to insult your cooking, it does smell good; Just don’t worry about it, I’ll be fine, no I do not want some celery; and no, my parents do not spoil me and they do give me enough attention” thing over and over again.
I’m sort of against going to a “therapist” though.

Um, I have no idea what I could do to even get rid of/control this…hypnosis?
