Bi-Polar & Depression?

Question by Schtupa: Bi-polar & depression?
I am still having trouble finding a combination of medications that allow me to function.

Yes, I am still working with the doctors, although it does seem to be rather useless at this point.

I am thinking that this may not ever get very much better, and that I will be impacted for the rest of my life. Episodes of not being able to get out of bed, or out of my apartment. Not being able to work, or not caring if I work or get paid. Periods of time when I can’t do much beyond drift between the computer, books, bed, eating-or not eating, and listless little else.

Can I be declared disabled?
Can I be declared to suffer from diminished capacity?
Can I be hospitalized against my wishes, and treated without my permission?

yes to all your questions on the hospital part if they fear you are a danger to yourself or others they can admit you with a court order for observation and treat you the judge could also decide that the state needs to take over guardianship of you for a year if it is bad enough

i know an adult that became a ward of the state for a year and he had to do counseling and meds once he was released form the mental hospital and if he did not comply they would just re-admit him

oh god, not you too! I swear I would rather have flipping cancer. I am bipolar too and its the most crapiest thing. I have stopped seeing my doctors. all they do is change my medication and charge me R1330 for 50 minutes. its a waste of my money and my time. I need some kind of other help. I wish you luck. I am also going to post a question in this regard, I, too, need help.
